Your financial reset: Reassess, recharge, and recommit

Your life changes – so should your plan.

Financial planning isn’t a “set it and forget it” exercise. As your goals, income, and priorities evolve, your financial plan should grow with you. That’s why we encourage clients to build an annual ritual of reflection and realignment.

At GreatDane Investment, we call this your financial reset – a chance to pause, reassess, and step confidently into the next season of life.

Why annual reflection matters:

Just like you review your health or goals each year, your money deserves that same attention. Life is dynamic. A financial plan that doesn’t adapt can leave you feeling stuck or misaligned.

An annual reset helps you:

  • Reconnect with your financial “why”

  • Review what’s working (and what’s not)

  • Adjust your goals, savings, or strategies based on real life – not a rigid plan

Your financial reset checklist:

Each year, ask yourself:

  • What felt aligned and fulfilling financially this year?

  • Where did I feel stress, avoidance, or disconnection with money?

  • What goals do I want to carry forward and which can I release?

  • Do my savings, investments, and spending still support the life I want?

How to make this a ritual (not a chore):

  • Block off a quiet afternoon each year (ideally at year-end or a birthday)

  • Light a candle, grab a journal, or take yourself somewhere inspiring

  • Reflect on the past year. Not just numbers, but how you felt about money

  • Set 1–3 financial intentions for the year ahead

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence.

Try this today:
